Private School Credit to be Identified on School Transcripts

| The Minister of Education, Kathleen Wynne, announced that anyone looking at the academic records, including universities and colleges, should know if a grade was obtained outside the public system. As a result public school students who pick up individual credits at private schools are going to find a "P" next to those grades on their official transcripts. "This is not about punishment, this is not about blacklisting," Wynne stated yesterday. "This is about being transparent about where our students are getting their credits." Many teachers, guidance councillors, principals and parents in our community have expressed some concerns about the programs offered by some private schools and they appreciate the Minister for listening closely to their concerns. |
